Nefertari was one of the greatest royal wives, married with Ramesse the II. Nefertari means 'Beautiful Companion'.

Ramesses II constructed this temple for Nefertari which is situated in Abu Simbel next to his colossal monument. Historians suggest that the design of Abu Simbel’s temples expresses a measure of ego and pride in Ramesses II
