I know it's an old subject and this shot was uploaded looong time ago, when I've just fave it, but now I'm cleaning all dA stuff, so here I am again...

It's not about being worthy or not. It's not about religion or caste system. It's about control. You ever think for a while from where the whole idea of castes came from?
When Aryans were on their "conquest stage", they beat Dravidians, the first "owners" of Indian subcontinent. As they were outnumbered in their conquered land, they put Dravidians as "lower humans". Something around to slaves. Just to be sure they will not rebell and will not even come close to any Aryans without specific order.
Then the system developed further, to cover basic "social ledder", with priests, "nobles" (actually the "arya" mean noble, so tell yourself the rest), labourers and slaves. And then the thing get out of control to the point, when there is separate caste of hairdressers and shavers in modern India. All of that to not being crushed in conquered land by it's "rightfull" owners few thousands years ago. People tend to mix caste system with something almost religious, but religion has nothing in common with it. It's just one of most wicked ways to be ruler - because your serves are simply born as such and can't change that. It's probably even better than Roman "Divide et impera" in terms of being the only ruler and powerful person.
